Big News: Swap Top Is Fully Patented and Protected in the USA!

If you’ve been with us for a while, you know this whole thing started with a simple idea while out to dinner one night. We were watching our boys swap charms on their shoes and thought it would be fun to bring that same energy to hats. So we drew a trucker hat with seven holes on the front panel and asked a simple question. Would this even work?

Turns out it did.

We spent months building rough prototypes, fixing what didn’t work, improving what did, and eventually getting to the version of Swap Top you see today. When kids tried it for the first time and instantly understood it, we knew we had something special.

Once the brand started growing, we filed for a design patent to protect the look and layout of the hat. If you’ve ever gone through the patent process, you know it’s a slow journey. A lot of waiting. A lot of paperwork. A lot of hoping you got everything right.

Now it’s official. The design is protected for the next 15 years, and the drawings you’ll see below are now part of the public record. This is a big win for our small, family built brand.

Why it matters...
It gives us room to keep building. It keeps the core Swap Top design safe. And it validates the years of work that went into bringing this weird little idea to life.
